TIFF, a vibrant not-for-profit arts organization, is accepting
applications for the contract position of:

MANAGER, INDUSTRY PROGRAMMING (PARENTAL LEAVE REPLACEMENT)

This will be an exciting year for TIFF as we present unique programming in our new home and the world's premiere centre for film, TIFF Bell Lightbox.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a new era in Toronto's cultural history.


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sales & Industry Office, the Industry Programming Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of Industry events during the TIFF Kids International Film Festival, as well as for overseeing the launch of various Talent Development Programmes, such as Talent Lab, Telefilm Canada PITCH THIS! and TIFF Rising Stars for the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.

Responsibilities

•Programme Industry panels and other activities (dinner, networking cocktail etc.) at the TIFF Kids International Film Festival for Children
•Expand TIFF Industry’s network in the children entertainment industry and attract new delegates for TIFF Kids
•Oversee application launch for TIFF Festival talent development programmes: Talent Lab, Telefilm Canada PITCH THIS! and TIFF Rising Stars
•Oversee submission and Jury process for RBC Emerging Filmmakers Competition
•Research panel topics for 2013 Toronto International Film Festival
•Maintain Talent Lab Alumni List & Facebook page
•Keep track of Industry Programming budgets, spending etc. – monthly reconciliation
•Post seasonal positions for 2013 Toronto International Film Festival

Contract Dates: January 7th to April 19th, 2013

Minimum Requirements

•Minimum 5 years experience in the film industry.
•Minimum 2 years Festival programming experience.
•Strong knowledge of domestic and international film distribution & marketing, international film festivals and industry markets
•Strong knowledge of the children’s entertainment industry.
•Strong familiarity with domestic and international filmmakers.
•Experience in live event production a definite asset.
•Experience with event management systems (Artifax) an asset.
•Exceptionally strong administrative and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
•Quick thinker, good judgment and excellent multi-tasker.
•Exceptional computer skills, with significant experience with Microsoft Office Suite (word and excel)
•Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
•Previous supervisory experience considered an asset.
•Knowledge of other languages a definite asset.
•Ability to work well under pressure.
•Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
