  applications for the contract position of:

JUMP CUTS/TIFF NEXT WAVE FESTIVAL COORDINATOR

This will be an exciting year for TIFF as we present unique programming in our new home and the world's premiere centre for film, TIFF Bell Lightbox.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a new era in Toronto's cultural history.

The Jump Cuts/TIFF Next Wave Festival Coordinator will provide administrative and event management support to the Learning/Public Programmes department for the TIFF Next Wave Festival and Jump Cuts Young Filmmakers Showcase

Responsibilities

JUMP CUTS YOUNG FILMMAKERS COMPETITION (TIFF.KIDS & TIFF.NEXTWAVE)    
•Oversee Jump Cuts submissions & pre-screening, including data entry
•Update and distribute Jump Cuts information to internal departments
•Oversee  Jump Cuts Pre-screeners
•Liaise with Jump Cuts Jury and attend Jury Meeting
•Update Jump Cuts Finalist Package and notify all finalists
•Plan and programme workshops/Talent Lab for TIFF Next Wave Jump Cuts Finalists
•Ensure the creation of awards and certificates.
•Plan and execute a reception for TIFF Next Wave Jump Cuts Finalists
•Act as on-site contact for Jump Cuts at both TIFF Kids Festival and TIFF Next Wave  Festival
•Ensure all information is entered into Artifax (TIFF database)
•Other duties as required

TIFF NEXT WAVE FESTIVAL
•Update and distribute Battle of the Scores information
•Update Battle of the Scores finalist package and notify all finalists
•Liase with Technical & Event Services Department regarding presentation elements of Battle of the Scores, Next Wave Film Slam and Opening party
•Liase with internal departments on publication, marketing and media materials for TIFF Next Wave and provide copy as needed
•Scheduling and administration tasks for TIFF Next Wave Public film programme
•Scheduling and administration tasks for TIFF Next Wave Bootcamp
•Facilitate OFRB Requests Forms for all films in TIFF Next Wave (including Jump Cuts)
•Supervise on-site volunteers for TIFF Next Wave Festival
•Co-host visiting filmmakers & guests for TIFF Next Wave Festival
•Facilitate post-film discussions and panels as necessary
•Ensure all information is entered into Artifax (TIFF database)
•Attend select Next Wave Committee meetings (Tues. evenings) as required
•Additional support as required.
•Both components involve supervising and working with volunteers

Contract Dates:  January 7, 2013 – May 31, 2013

Minimum Requirements

• Previous event production experience.
• Exemplary telephone and inter-personal communication skills.
• Experience speaking in front of an audience.
• Above-average ability to multi-task and proven organizational abilities, with an exceptional eye for detail.
• Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some weekends and evenings.
• Willingness to work with a small team that strives for excellence.
• Experience working with children and youth an asset
