Assistant Manager, TIFF Bell Lightbox Box Office

This will be an exciting year for TIFF as we continue to present unique programming in our new home and the world's premiere centre for film, TIFF Bell Lightbox.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a new era in Toronto's cultural history.

The Assistant Manager, Box Office will manage the day to day operations in the Box Office throughout the year. They will inform and uphold the box office policies of the CRET Department and of the organization while promoting high standards of customer service for all of our patrons.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership, coaching and training to support supervisors and ticket agents
• Assist in managing day-to-day Box Office operations at TIFF Bell Lightbox
• Uphold box office ticketing policies, ensuring they are adhered to in alignment with organizational standards
• Assist in managing and supervising evening shifts: updating sales reports and distributing sales summaries to senior management
• Handle escalating customer complaints
• Take the lead on technical issues and troubleshooting
• Assist with maintenance of the safe and all box office financial reconciliations
• Responsible for banking deposits on regular basis as outlined by Finance
• Ensure accurate accounting and data collection
• Adhere to PCI compliance, ensuring the consistency of confidentiality of all patron information collected
• Work with Box Office Manager to provide regular feedback for all staff
• Maintenance of office cleanliness, filing, sorting and organizing of materials
• Report details of inquiries, comments and complaints to the Manager, Box Office
• Liaise with various departments and the volunteer department when needed

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and internet navigation
• Knowledge of TyTix Titan ticking systems an asset
• Skilled with the reconciliation of financials
• Previous banking, accounting and safe/float management
• Previous customer experience in a managerial role is an asset
• Previous office administration experience
• Previous staff management experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good critical thinking skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Problem solving capabilities a must
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines
• Adaptable to a flexing working scheduling, including some early mornings, late evenings weekends and holidays
