CIBC Canadian Film Gallery

Mission: the CIBC Canadian Film Gallery exhibits works from the TIFF Film Reference Library’s Special Collections that reflect the organization’s support of filmmakers, producers, film critics and programmers, historians and scholars, craftspeople, distributors, publicists, and anyone who has worked in the art of the moving image.  Through its exhibition programme, the CIBC Canadian Film Gallery educates the public about the history of the moving image and its role in the arts, science, business, communication, and all aspects of society. Particular emphasis is given to Canadian Cinema.  These shows are curated by the Library Director and produced in conjunction with TIFF Bell Lightbox’s Exhibition Department. The Gallery also exhibits touring shows that fit the organization’s mission and complement the work of the Film Reference Library.

These exhibitions are free. The public is invited to take advantage of pre-scheduled tours by TIFF Docents, specially trained volunteers who receive instruction about each exhibition.
