Developed by TIFF and the King and John Festival Corporation, HOME is a heritage programme that tells the stories of the people, communities and organizations that have lived at King and John streets since Toronto’s emergence as a city. The City of Toronto’s Archaeological Management Plan required that an archaeological assessment be completed for this property as a condition of development approval. The first story uncovered by the programme detailed the origin of Toronto’s first civilian hospital. HOME includes a permanent display of artifacts with interpretive panels in the CIBC Canadian Film Gallery.
The HOME display includes two short films, “Starting Over: The Legacy bof Leslie and Clara Reitman” and “Home” which were created for the permanent display and let you explore the history of the people, the communities and the land on which TIFF Bell Lightbox now resides.
