PITCHING TEAM:

Kaveh Nabatian
Kaveh is an Iranian-Canadian filmmaker and musician based out of Montreal. His work confronts the gap between the two arts: creating films that have the intuitive and immediate feel of music, and creating music that has the evocative energy of film.
He has directed documentary, fiction, music videos, and television series. His films have played at over fifty international film festivals, from which he has won multiple awards, including prizes at SXSW, the Gémeaux, nominations for the Jutras and Genies, and inclusion in Canada's Top Ten Films. He has shot in such diverse locations as Mexico, South Africa, Honduras, France, Nunavut, China, and French Guyana. Kaveh has degrees in both Film Production and Jazz Studies from Concordia University.
Much of his time as a musician is dedicated to Bell Orchestre, a Juno-award winning avant-chamber ensemble in which he plays trumpet, keyboards, and an array of analog and electronic instruments.
In recent years, Bell Orchestre has released two critically-acclaimed albums, toured Europe and North America extensively, collaborated with the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra and LaLaLa Human Steps, and done a composition residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts. Kaveh has also composed music for films (including his own), orchestra, dance, and theatre.

Stéphane Tanguay
In 1998, Stéphane Tanguay created Les Productions Kinesis. He shot a few award winning shorts mainly with directors Patrick Boivin (Radio, La Lettre, Ça Pis Tout L'reste, White, and many other auto-produced films for Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/PatrickBoivin), and with director Kaveh Nabatian (Sunday Afternoon, Vapor) In 2011, Jaloux (Patrick Demers) a first feature film was release by eOne-Films Seville. Bunker (Patrick Boivin) will also be release by eOne-Films Seville at the beginning of 2014.
The goal of Productions Kinesis is to produce unique movies that will leave a lasting impression on international movie markets. Rumba will be a perfect case in point and will build on the relationship that Stéphane and Kaveh have shared for more than seven years.
