Four refugees from the spreading zombie apocalypse take refuge in an abandoned shopping mall and attempt to hold off the shuffling hordes of the undead in George A. Romero's gore-tastic sequel to Night of the Living Dead.
As the zombie apocalypse spreads to the cities and law and order collapses, a pregnant TV journalist (Gaylen Ross), her fiancé (David Emge) and two rogue cops (Scott H. Reiniger and Ken Foree) steal a helicopter and attempt to fly to safety. Taking refuge in an enormous, abandoned shopping mall, the group lets loose, hedonistically enjoying this palatial consumer paradise. But they soon realize they're not the only ones wishing to take advantage of the mall's riches, as a raid by a gang of brutal, scavenging bikers sparks a renewed assault from the ever-growing hordes of zombies hungry for their tender flesh. "Dawn of the Dead is one of the best horror films ever made — and, as an inescapable result, one of the most horrifying. It is gruesome, sickening, disgusting, violent, brutal and appalling" (Roger Ebert).
