This enormous and unexpected runaway hit became the most successful comedy franchise in Hollywood history, and made cult comedian Zack Galifianakis into a much-mispronounced household name.
"I'm not supposed to be within two hundred feet of a school — or a Chuck E. Cheese." — Alan (Zach Galifianakis)
Best buds Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Justin Bartha) head to Las Vegas for Doug's bachelor party, with Doug's wild-man, soon-to-be brother-in-law Alan (Zach Galifianakis) in tow. All starts innocently enough with a toast on the hotel roof, but by morning Doug is missing, Alan has somehow acquired a baby, Stu is missing a tooth, there's a live tiger in the bathroom, and nobody has any memory of what transpired the night before. As the trio attempt to retrace their steps and recover their friend before his imminent wedding, they find a convoluted trail involving Chinese gangsters, a friendly stripper, and, of course, Mike Tyson. An enormous and unexpected runaway hit, The Hangover became the most successful comedy franchise in Hollywood history upon the release of its even bigger-grossing sequel (with the series-closing third installment due to land in theatres this summer), and made cult comedian Galifianakis into a much-mispronounced household name.
