Commissioned for the sixtieth anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival as part of the anthology film Chacun son cinéma, the sardonic yet disturbing At the Suicide... stars Cronenberg himself in the title role, holding a gun to his head and preparing to kill himself on live TV, while unseen commentators dispassionately discuss the role of Jews in cinema.
