Sally Potter, the bold, daring, and always provocative director of such celebrated films as Orlando, The Tango Lesson and Yes, joins us at TIFF Bell Lightbox to look back at her influential career and discuss her most recent project, Ginger & Rosa.

Since first making her mark with her influential short Thriller in 1979, the bold, daring, and always provocative Sally Potter has become an icon of international cinema with such celebrated films as Orlando, The Tango Lesson and Yes. Characterized by an independent spirit and fearlessly blurring the lines between narrative and experimental cinema, Potter’s vibrant, sensual and distinctive films delve into questions of gender and personal identity through ingenious explorations of cinematic form.

On March 10th, Ms. Potter joins us at TIFF Bell Lightbox to look back at her influential career and discuss her most recent project Ginger & Rosa (an Official Selection at the 2012 Festival), a stylized coming-of-age tale that follows the divergent paths of two childhood friends in 1960s London. Union Pictures is releasing Ginger & Rosa in select Canadian cities March 29th.

In Conversation With... Sally Potter is co-presented by CFC, Union Pictures and STUDIO.

Tickets go on sale for TIFF Members on February 6th, and for non-members on February 13th.
