Ticket and Membership Policies

We recommend that customers arrive at TIFF Bell Lightbox 30 minutes before the scheduled start of their event.

All ticket and membership sales are final (no refunds or cancellations). Tickets are valid only for the event for which they are issued and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

Tickets may not be resold. Resale will invalidate tickets.

Programmes are subject to change without notice.

Please check the calendar regularly to see if there have been any changes or cancellations to your screening or event. If you provided us with your contact details at the time of purchase, our Customer Service Representatives will attempt to contact you in advance to let you know.

All screenings of foreign language films are in the original language with English subtitles, unless otherwise indicated.

Admittance is restricted to persons 18 years of age or older unless otherwise stated. Regardless of age, each person in attendance must have a ticket.

Proof of age by government issued ID will be required prior to admission for persons appearing under the age of 18.

Children aged 2 and under who do not require a seat are admitted free.

Child tickets are valid for children aged 3-13. Children must be accompanied by an adult and are required to have a ticket.

Senior tickets are valid for adults 65 years of age and older. Seniors will be required to show government issued ID at time of purchase and pick-up.

Students must present valid student ID at time of purchase and pick-up.

Some screenings are eligible for our Rush policy. Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the screening. When the event goes Off Sale, we will sell tickets to the Rush line 10 minutes before the start of the screening.

Venue Policies

Seating is guaranteed until 15 minutes before the scheduled start of a screening. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of theatre staff. There will be no further admittance 10 minutes after the start of the screening.

TIFF Bell Lightbox is wheelchair accessible, with seating areas in each cinema and accessible washrooms on each level. At the time of purchase please identify any special needs to the Customer Service Representative.

No food, beverages or large bags may be brought into the galleries. Some screenings are food and beverage free.

All electrical devices must be silenced and stowed away. Bags are subject to inspection.

Standing at the back on the cinema or sitting in the aisles are not allowed.

All customers must leave the cinema following each screening.

Toronto International Film Festival Inc. (“TIFF Inc.”) reserves the right to refuse admission and/or expel from the premises, without refund, any person whose presence or conduct is deemed objectionable.

Cameras and recording devices are strictly prohibited during screenings and in the galleries. It is illegal to make a copy of a film without the permission of the copyright owner. TIFF Inc. reserves the right to undertake anti-piracy measures, expel any unauthorized person caught recording or photographing, to confiscate pirated material and to report unauthorized recording to law enforcement which may subject the transgressor to criminal and civil liability.

TIFF inc. reserves the right to film or record its events and activities for its own purposes.
