STUDIO is the new, year-round TIFF Industry programming that features series, panels and seminars with Canadian and international film professionals, experts and talents – providing a space to learn or consolidate skills, be inspired, exchange ideas, share passion, and discuss challenges in a collaborative environment.

STUDIO is the first year-round Industry programme at TIFF Bell Lightbox. It will take place from September 2012 through August 2013. The sessions will also offer expert insights into the business of film production by providing in-depth views on relevant topics, ranging from screenwriting to film financing, to the new age of movie marketing.

Offered to a selected group of 16 mid-career, Ontario-based content producers, STUDIO is intended to take these producers’ careers to the next level, via creative and business skill development.

STUDIO is open to producers, filmmakers and screenwriters with a minimum of one feature film and/or two short film credits as producer or co-producer. These candidates are curious about all fields of production (film, TV, documentary, online, interactive and transmedia) and are interested in collaborating with their peers, as well as challenging their own views.

Chosen candidates will have a unique opportunity to interact with internationally acclaimed industry professionals – including acclaimed filmmakers, experienced producers and other experts in both the Canadian and international film industries.

Some sessions will be offered exclusively for the programme’s chosen candidates, while others will be open to all industry professionals.
