Daniel Iron began his career as legal counsel at Telefilm Canada. After five years there, he left to head up business and legal affairs at renowned production and distribution company, Rhombus Media. While there, Daniel became a partner and producer. He left Rhombus in 2004 to form his own company, Foundry Films. Daniel has served on the board of the CMPA as well as on Telefilm’s feature film advisory committee. His company, Foundry Films, was formed in 2004 and is a prolific developer and producer of high-quality content including television series and MOW’s, documentaries and feature films. With Foundry, Daniel has produced, or executive produced, over fifteen productions including series for all three Canadian networks and award winning feature films such as Away From Her, Cairo Time and The Bang Bang Club. Foundry Films has garnered numerous awards including two Oscar nominations, three awards at TIFF, and Genie and Gemini wins. The company also has extensive experience in international co-productions, and attracts the leading writing and directing talent in Canada.
