Wendy Bernfeld, Managing Director of Rights Stuff Consulting, is a passionate film buff who specializes in content acquisition/distribution, and related international strategy and deal advice. She works with traditional media (film, TV, pay TV), digital new media (Internet, IPTV, VOD, mobile/tablets, OTT/connected devices, consumer electronics) and cross-platform/transmedia production and distribution. Originally from Montreal, Bernfeld moved to Europe in 1991, and went on to work as an entertainment lawyer and Supreme Court law clerk. She has over fifteen years of experience working as an in-house movie buyer and senior executive in traditional pay TV, VOD and distribution departments for major corporations. Some of her former positions include CEO of Canal+ International Acquisitions, MD with Alliance-Atlantis, and SVP, Acquisitions for Movie Network Canada. Bernfeld founded Rights Stuff in 1999, a consulting agency that helps filmmakers maximize opportunities and revenues across traditional and new (digital) media. Apart from her work with Rights Stuff, Bernfeld is also active on various festival and industry advisory boards, such as IDFA, Binger Film Institute, Seize the Night Outdoor Film Festival, and Film Collaborative.
