Katerina Cizek is the director of HIGHRISE, the National Film Board of Canada's Emmy-winning, cross-media documentary project exploring the human experience of global vertical living. Katerina was recently listed among Reelscreen’s 2011 Trailblazers in Non-Fiction. In 2006, she directed the NFB's first web-only documentary, Filmmaker-in-Residence, winner of a Webby, a Rocky, among other awards. Her previous films include her award-winning look at the Digital Revolution, Seeing is Believing: Handicams, Human Rights and the News (2002, co-directed with Peter Wintonick), and The Dead Are Alive: Eyewitness in Rwanda (1996). She travels the world to speak about her innovative approach to the documentary genre.
