Canada has 55 co-production treaties. Financing a film with domestic money by itself is almost impossible. After the "euro-pudding" decade, co-productions have proven to be an excellent way for producers and filmmakers to make the films they envisioned, conquering international audiences and markets. Canada occupies a strategic position and can play a very strong role in the coming years. In this module, guest speakers will share their experiences and tips, and discuss their own co-productions: the treaties; the US market; co-producing with South America, Europe, India, Africa and Asia; possibilities and challenges.
